Re: Webpage Shield

It seems that when I try to widen the point somewhat I really lose the shape at the bottom I realize this is an old post, but I looked at your SVG and came up with this idea: 1. Duplicate 2. CTRL+Drag a corner to make it somewhat larger. 3. CTRL+Drag that bottom node at the point to make it longer/...

Re: Several usability questions.

ahh...windows...but if you switch to linux then you can use devil's pie...just kidding, dude. Sure would make it easier to configure Inkscape how I want. yes, i checked my pm's and replied to them. Oh? I don't have any PMs, so they must not have sent. Is it possible for you to resend?

Re: Clipboard Issues with Inkscape under windows...

You need to make sure that the 2 inkscape windows are from the same instance. So once you have inkscape open, open all the rest of the files you want by using the open dialog, not by double clicking in explorer. if you double click in explorer, it will start a 2nd inkscape, and they wont play nice ...

Nice!

You are an awesome illustrator and artist. And I don't mean that based on this drawing. I perused your site in-depth.

Take care.

1. Starry Ball I made this for my daughters. I didn't bother putting any rotation or randomness, well, because it was for kids. :D http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1712/starball100x132ar5.png 2. My avatar.

This wasn't my first Inkscape creation, so I figured I'll put it here. I finally decided to make an avatar. Bear in mind a couple things. 1. I really like tribal. 2. I love scarabs. Actually, I just like the overall image. I remember back in my Macromedia (now Adobe) Fireworks days, there was a scar...

Re: Clipboard Issues with Inkscape under windows...

I know previously, I was able to CTRL+X an SVG object from Inkscape, and paste into another Inkscape window.

Now, I have lost that ability. Not sure why. I guess I have to remove my SVG stuff by editing the markup? :|

Oh, and by removing I mean putting all my little icons into the same file.

Re: How do I recreate the specular heights in this picture? Or.

Glad you got waht I mean once you played with it. Not the easiest thing to explain in text, but having it remain editable is a big plus. Yeah, I know. That's why I read it like ten times before even trying it yesterday. I'm just realised you can do 1 better tho, rather than duplicate and offset, do...

Re: How do I recreate the specular heights in this picture? Or.

I'll admit, I still didn't understand that until I was able to play with it.

Now after toying with clipping a bit I see why it is so much better than working with Path Operations.

Thanks for that tip!

Re: Several usability questions.

If all you want is maximised, saving the template maximised and checking inkscapes set to load window geom from files should be enough. Thanks, but like I said before... Now, I did try that, and it did open up awfully large, but not maximized. And in fact, once I drag it completely into view, I see...

Re: Several usability questions.

1. Do you mean maximised? if so then open the template, maximise and save and everytime you open inkscape it should go maximised. If you mean proper fullscrenn from f11 then I dont think you can currently. Oops, yes. Now, I did try that, and it did open up awfully large, but not maximized. 2. Think...

[solved] Several usability questions.

1. Is it possible to make Inkscape always open up fullscreen? 2. Is it possible to "clean" your current workspace? To explain this, sometimes I get to mucking about and wind up with a screen full of garbage I don't plan on keeping. So, I do CTRL+A then DEL. (Select All then Delete) I hate ...

Re: How do I recreate the specular heights in this picture? Or.

Duplicate, offset and then clip would be my suggestion, rather than the intersect, as the shape of your highlight stays easily editable. I don't see how clipping would be beneficial in this regard. Could you provide some generic steps, please? Nor do i understand how "the shape of your highlig...

Re: How do I recreate the specular heights in this picture? Or.

that's basically how i would go about doing it. except when i duplicate i also do a dynamic offset and bring it in a little before i draw my path and cutaway. You know, I hadn't even thought of that. I normally just use SHIFT+Drag, but I definitely see using a Dynamic Offset being the better option...

Re: How do I recreate the specular highlights in this picture?

That may work for something simple, but the entire reason I use an intersected object is because it will have the exact shape I need (the original).

For something complex I couldn't possibly imagine having to draw an intricate shape. Especially if I've already created it once.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SuSE-logo.svg What ways would *you guys/gals* recreate the specular highlight along the chameleon's back and in its eyes? Relative theory, or specific instructions will do. Or... how would one put the "ice" on the mountain, in the Inkscape icon? My relati...

Although, it would be interesting to see an example of what the results of this jerkiness is. If you can tell me how I could illustrate it to you, then I'll gladly do so next time I experience this problem. See, it basically just stops drawing. To get it to move again I have to raise my Stylus far ...

Can you post an SVG file that contains an cloned text object that doesn't update when you modify the original? I can't reproduce it on my PC - i.e. I can change the text, stroke, fill of a text object and the clone aslo updates. Are you sure you are creating a 'clone' and not a 'duplicate'? It appe...

Re: Anyone else experienced poor Stylus/Wacom/Pen Tablet support

The resolution of the Intuos is 5080 lpi (lines per inch) whilst the Graphire is 2032 lpi. I wasn't sure what the resolution of tablets were before I suggested it could be the problem. My theory was that if you monitor is running at a higher resolution than the tablet it would have be accurate enou...
