Hi. Your screenshot shows you have set up snapping of nodes to guides. Doesn't it work? Snap the node to the vanishing point/guide intersection then use the node tool to shorten the path -move node while holding Ctrl+Alt. I saw the Path menu > Divide option but likewise, did not know how to use it. I'll try using Cut Path and see what I can do with that. It is something I have never used either.
