Re: Locating holes in rectangle
Thanks lads I looked at the manual (I bought it a couple of years ago) but couldn't understand the guide or snapping concept. I'm not thick, but old age plays a big part here and things that used to take a few minutes now take considerably longer. When you double click on the horizontal guide does i...

Locating holes in rectangle
All measurements are in mm I've been trying to replicate a drawing robot by 'Evil Mad Scientist' with wooden ends instead of acrylic before I attempt to cut it in acrylic. I can constantly mess it up and it wont cost me anything as I have quite a bit of birch ply knocking around. When I've worked it...

[Solved] Closing a resolved post
I'm pretty lucky on this forum as most of my questions are quickly answered, mostly by members with loads of patience, but my problem is simple. I know how to unsubscribe to a topic, but not how to close it as 'RESOLVED' so no one wast their time posting to it, thinking the post is still active. Can...

Re: Resizing DXF
Your right Brynn Its bloody enormous and covers all of the screen, trust me to pick the Deer's Head as it had 21 parts, but it all seemed to resize into my 2' X 3' cutting area. It turned out to be so simple I should have played about with it for a while before rushing up here and start asking stupi...

[Solved] Resizing DXF
A lot of my DXF collection is turning out to be too big for the A4 space on my desktop. Tried making the area bigger and then importing the DXF into that, but I can't make the canvas and the DXF smaller together. Could some one please tell me how to make the dxf files smaller before I import them to...

inputting the distance between to circles
Hi
Can someone tell me how to distance 2 circles from each other with a particular measurement (52.22mm) and then position the holes 8.52mm from the top of a rectangle.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
Hi All sorted using an old software program (Xara Xtreme Pro 5). I imported the scanned image and it sat on the page, but I was unable to get all 3 images in a row and settled with 2. Came to printing and it printed out exactly the same size as the origanals. Very pleased with the results. Thankyou ...

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
I'm sorry, but I dont know how to do that.
By the way I bought the manual so tell me where inside it I might find the answer to my question and I can let you all get back to what ever you were doing before.

Re: Print not coming out at the required size
When I Import the card graphic its 14.85ins wide and 11.24ins high. After I've resized it to get 3 cards into the A4 sheet (Inkscapes default size) the cards are 4.48ins wide and 3.40ins high. But when I come to print them out they are the same size, 4.48ins wide and 3.40ins high. 3 cards isn't a mu...

Print not coming out at the required size
As I get older (now 72) the hand I write with shakes like hell and makes it impossible to right out advertising cards when I have something to sell. So I hit on the idea of scanning them into the computer and then import them into Inkscape and printing them out on cardboard the same thickness as the...

Top of graphic showing transparent
Hi
Did a graphic for Woo-commerce Slider Revolution, but it hasn't saved properly. The top edge is showing some transparency, but there wasn't any transparency in the blue base.
I tried going back to rectify the thing but it just keeps coming back as is. Please see attachment.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
I've done as you instructed, but how do I tidy the line drawn with the Bezier tool before I type my text in.
Thanks.

Getting text around this helmet
Hi After trying several other software forums without success I'm going to try here instead. I wanted to make a logo for a Wordpress page, but couldn't find anything on line that was suitable. So I found this graphic (please see attachment) of a Roman Soldiers helmet and wanted to put this text CENT...

Re: Trying to select inside a scanned image
Hi Ragstian If you ever get round to building one of these machines please let me know first as I wasn't able to complete my build due to a second heart attack, (Still alive and kicking though) , but my doctor told me not to continue with anything strenuous. Just walk daily and eat sensibly. So my b...

Bezier curves
I've got an oblong box measuring 4" long by 1/2" wide and I want to convert it to curves on the top and bottom and at the right hand side end. So I've got something that resembles a feather with the left hand side as a flat edge.
How can I do that using the Bezier tool.
Thanks.

Re: Trying to select inside a scanned image
I've purchased everything to build the 'Openbuilds OX CNC Router' (See attachment for photo) which measures 4' X 3' and has a cutting area of 2' X 3'. I take your point about measuring the holes from the plates, but setting up my own drawings to replace the holes in the correct positions. Regarding ...

Re: Trying to select inside a scanned image
Thanks a lot for the explanation Ragstian That's the problem, all the sets of plates that have been cut have the holes in the wrong places and once you add the wheels to the plates you can't get the 'V' rails to sit in between them. I'm already on the second set from another source and they are stil...

Trying to select inside a scanned image
I've got a scanned image of a front plate of a CNC router which I'm trying to align the holes and find the center of. But every time I try to select the left hand set of holes the whole scan moves with the mouse. I'm drawing straight lines with the Bezier tool to help me with the alignment. I wonder...

Re: All neatly in a line
Yes I'm generating Gcode from DXF files in Inkscape. I've been to that site and the Gcode converter link is dead. Its not a problem as I'm using Cambam at present to convert. Although I'm trying hard to get these Dowel's to space evenly, I recon the Cambam's Gcode converter will create a path regard...

Re: All neatly in a line
Hi And thanks. Yes. I want to eventually cover the whole of the work area with as many dowels as I can. I didn't continue with them until I was sure there was a way to align them up with equal distance between them and the edge of the board area, therefore giving the router an equal journey around t...

All neatly in a line
Hi In my 2ft (609.60mm) X 3ft (914.40mm) work area I have a number of 3/4in (76.200mm) Dowels in a line across the board. At present there at 2 squares in and 2 squares apart, but as I need to drill the ends with a 1/4 (0.25mm) drill on my cnc router they have got to be more precisely centered on th...
