I'm using version 48.2 on a mac book pro(10.7.5). I tried using the tools on the tool bar and that worked(thanks). Still no progress trying to select text and use the alt key, not sure why on that one.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue trying to manually kern some text. When all text is selected I can manipulate as per instructions. When I select an individual letter the only kerning I can do is using the control key and brackets, and the letter only moves in increments of 45 degree angles( 9 o'clock,...
