Re: Preparing for Krita Post-Processing - A Question

It was removed in later version because it wasn't working. But you got the option of exporting CMYK TIFF, and then exporting using Krita 2.9. Krita 2.9 has the option to export to PDF.

Preparing for Krita Post-Processing - A Question

Due to my latest finding, I know how to get a proper CMYK PDF file with Inkscape with the help of GIMP, Krita 4.0 and legacy Krita. But, one of my prerequisites in Inkscape is that there must be one object per layer. This is because of the .tar export within Inkscape making it possible to work with ...

Re: Pixel Art in Inkscape

Letting some algorithms do the work for you is kind of the idea of my post. If you look at ProwlerGFX's art in YouTube, I'd think you find it easier to just let the algorithms does the work for you, and do some manual pixeling to be very efficient if you want to keep your original work looks, but al...

Re: Pixel Art in Inkscape

> so you can generate pixel art of any resolution Designing your image in a vector tool using "pixels" (=square syde by side) is a nonsense (to me, until someone proves me wrong). It doesn't make your image more scalable than a bitmap one. (it doesn't make it less scalable either, but you...

Re: Pixel Art in Inkscape

Right now, if I had to do pixel art ... I will not use Inkscape. Because there is zero advantage to use a vector tool to do a bitmap image. At least the way you do it (individual squares) there are only downsides (antialising). Krita and Photoshop have vector tools for people to use as an aid to ra...

Re: Pixel Art in Inkscape

Right now, if I had to do pixel art with Inkscape, I'd do it with conjunction with GIMP and Krita since GIMP has the best indexing mode capability, and Krita has the best image-editing capability in my opinion. GIMP for processing, and Krita for editing exported png. That's the only workaround I can...

I know I said something about Objects Dialog and Layers Dialog before, but more experience with it makes me convinced..

That Layers Dialog isn't needed anymore. It's easy to make clipped layers/mask with Object Dialog, and once you know more about using the objects dialog, you can definitely set up the objects to act more like a raster program. What I mean by that is you can make a transparency mask layer, and previe...

Re: I'm learning to render a shoe in Inkscape .92

Blurring is the worst you can do for rendering performance. Would suggest giving the gradient meshes a try. I did, and I utilize it for major shading, but the thing is that it's not efficient to select one-by-one for coloring. I much rather use erasing, opacity, blurring, and the brush tool for sha...

Re: I'm learning to render a shoe in Inkscape .92

I am using brushes and low opacity with blur to give this look to the shoe, and making it a quick render. I wish Inkscape is a little faster with this. I think I am liking this program a lot more after I knew of this technique. Great for product rendering. It took me a while to figure this out. Also...

I'm learning to render a shoe in Inkscape .92

Thanks to the object manager, and being able to change from layer to group, and back and forth, it is now possible for me to render a shoe. I have clipped the layers. The reason I have clipped them is that I am now able to adjust the looks of the shoe without having to go over the bounds of the shap...

Re: Layers and objects seem to be redundant

It seem like you have to work with layer if you want to move a group into another layer. I have to create a new layer, and then move group into another layer. That is to avoid disappearing shapes.

Layers and objects seem to be redundant

While I was looking for objects panel, I noticed that objects is a far superior version to layers. What's the benefits of using layers over objects? I mean, I can imagine only using objects in inkscape and never layers. If there isn't any benefits, I think layers can easily be ditched in future vers...

I was wondering... Wouldn't it possible to make slicing?

I would love to be able to just put in objects, and then slice objects. The closest solution to this is multiple division extension found in Multi-Boolean Extension. I also heard that there was a knife extension somewhere, but I don't see it, or maybe I misread.

How do you change the default Inkscape PNG Export folder?

It would be nice if I can change it to a place I feel that more comfortable seeing exported to. That's really all.

I tried looking at Inkscape, but I don't think it's there.

I actually tried out your suggestion, it does seem to work. If only they're more like transformation tool, but I can wait for those LPEs to be improved one day. Thanks.

The new features question

I have seen through the Inkscape video that Rotate Copies, Mirror Symmetry does work with paths as well as groups. Does the latest Windows Alpha has the working features of these or is it just on my end that's the issue? On my end, those do not work with groups. I'm using the 64 bit edition. Gonna t...

Re: Very slow development - why?

I sort of want this program to speed up a little bit in development, but on the bright side, I think it is getting closer and closer to expensive products with each updates. In fact, I think Inkscape is closer to Illustrator than Paint.Net to Photoshop. You literally have to download many filters fo...

Re: Improvement on the Inkscape gradient tool

Well, I'm happy with gradient meshes coming to svg2 mainly because of interoperability it may provide. That's something vector programs really need, but vector files can be worked on with multiple programs with some few adjustments there and there at this point anyway. This is all coming from a pers...

Improvement on the Inkscape gradient tool

When I played with Inkscape Gradient Mesh tool, I think that it can have better support. Especially with Gradient Mesh coming into the SVG 2.0 format. When you move individual points, you get sharp edges. You can't duplicate or copy/paste gradient meshes. There really needs some more flexibility wit...
