Re: Problem with Node Handles
Thank you so much Lazur URH for your patience with me. On your screen shot I was so busy looking at the items with your red arrows pointing to them that I completely missed the icon on the toolbar far right and of course that is indeed the problem. Now resolved thanks to you. I'm very grateful for y...

Re: Problem with Node Handles
It's probably me that can't explain properly rather than you missing something. All I know is I used to be able to get secondary handles to a node which allowed me to fine tune as it were the curves or shapes independently on either side of the node. Thanks for your help anyway. If the worst comes t...

Re: Problem with Node Handles
Hi thanks for your reply. However maybe I'm not explaining properly. Your screen shot is fine and shows what I get, but when you click on a node you should be able to get drag handles shooting out from the sides of the nodes and it's these which seem to have disappeared and I can't get them no matte...

Problem with Node Handles
Apologies if this is not the correct Thread in which to post my problem. I have the 0.48.4 version of Inkscape and I'm having trouble with the nodes. I can't seem to get node handles. Is this a known problem and if so how do I resolve it please in non-technical language. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit...

Re: Window resizing
Thanks for your reply brynn and for your investigations on my behalf. You have solved my problem and I now know where I was going wrong. I was opening Inkscape to what I suppose to be the default size, then using the Windows 'snap' feature to make the programme fill the screen. Then if I clicked on ...

Window resizing
I hope this is the right place to post this question. My apologies if it is not. I am running Inkscape version 48.0 on a 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS. My problem is as follows. When working with Inkscape full screen or even nearly full screen (22" monitor) when I click on virtually any of t...

Moving the toolbars
Sorry if this has been asked before. I have just installed the latest .48 version of Inkscape having previously had .47. I don't really like the toolbars down the right hand edge of the new version, my own preference is to have them along the top, but so far have not been able to find a way to shift...

Re: Initializing error
I did a Windows Update check. There was an update available relative to compatability issues. So firstly I reversed what I had done earlier regarding making an exception for Inkscape in the Data Execution Prevention Tab within Systems, then I updated my windows updates and Inkscape is functioning pr...

Re: Initializing error
No prkos I have not tried deleting any file. Is the preferences.xml file you mention in the hidden files and folders as I can find one there but nowhere else.
Is it all right to delete it. Does it recreate itself. Sorry for my ignorance.

Initializing error
I only recently got a new PC with the Windows 7 32/64 bit system. I downloaded Inkscape and it worked for the first couple of days but then when I went to open it I got the following message “The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application”. I uninst...
