Thanks everyone for the good advice! I really like working with vector images and inkscape so I I am glad you'll suggested a work-around for putting the images online. I will convert it to a jpeg image.

Thanks for your reply. No, the file isn't large, it's only 264 KB. Could it perhaps be a problem with the browser, I used firefox, maybe IE might not have this problem? Or do png images have to be imbedded into websites in a different manner than jpeg images?
