Re: how can I make this more professional
Although the tutorial was made with version 0.46 of inkscape, take a moment to look at HeathenX's video tutorial on how to make a Case Badge ( http://screencasters.heathenx.org/tag/case-badge/ ). I think it will show you some techniques that will help you get the look you are after. Darth_Gimp

Looks good! For the drop shadow issue, be sure when exporting that you are exporting the PAGE and not the selection or drawing. Give that a try and see how it works out.

Re: Open Source Creative Suite
The idea of an Open Source Creative Suite (OSCS) is a great idea.. I see discussion here about Inkscape, Gimp, Scribus.. but what I am not seeing is Blender. I doubt you will see Tango Icons in Blender... the interface is far too involved for that. So, how would you set up a nice suite including the...

Have you gone through and completed each of the ScreenCast episodes offered by Heathen X and Richard? If not.. start there. They are excellent, well paced and informative. Once you have completed all of the episodes you will have a firm foundation to build from. If you feel then that you still need/...

So I go and get the latest snapshot... run it.. dive for the pencil tool and Spiro... what the heck!? ITS CHANGED!!!! AHHHH!!! Watching HeathenX's screencast again... all the shape options are different and the "from clipboard" doesn't react the same as it does in the screencast.... ...

You can select the object with the arrow tool if you mouse around it. Would be nice to simply click the item. Does this happen in Linux as well? I might have to check.

I'm interested, and I have done some image worm stuff in the past. I would think something more freestyle would get more interest as a first worm and more people might join in as it goes. As far as choosing a number, do they wait for their neighbor to post so they know what their one edge is to matc...

I'm not on the Inkscape list and not interested in joining yet another list. The OCAL one has been a nightmare... forgot my password and thus I cannot get off of that list. I get spammed daily by it.

Looks like you'll have your hands full with things at first but maybe once everything settles down you c...
