Very odd. I was using the plus button in the top left of the toolbar. I did select the path, not the two nodes individually.
Well, I worked around this by recreating the bars using a rectangle.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Gaps appearing strokes of certain thickness?
I understand. Thank you very much for the explanation. I've learned so much in such a short time about this program, but I'll have to look at what the different types of nodes are. Thanks again!

Interestingly enough, I've tried the same thing in Adobe Illustrator and got the same effect. I have no idea why this is happening.

Nodes not being added in the middle of the segment.

For some reason, on one side of the objects, nodes are being added correctly, in the middle, whereas on the other side the nodes are being added in odd positions. Am I doing something wrong? I've attached the file.

Gaps appearing strokes of certain thickness?
Hello. I'm getting these weird gaps in the strokes of objects at certain thicknesses. Zooming in and out changes the gaps a bit, but they do show up on export. https://i.imgur.com/LYQVogR.png Same settings, zoomed out: https://i.imgur.com/7t7qIls.png Less visible at a thickness of 1: https://i.imgur...
