Re: vertically curve a block of text (to look like bottle lable)
Thanks! I searched and didn't find that thread. I tried the lattice before but I guess I moved too many points (middle ones as well as the top ones) and it distorted it too much. This really did the trick!

vertically curve a block of text (to look like bottle lable)
I have a block of text (not just one word or line) that I would like to give an arch shape while keeping all of the verticals. I would like it to look like a lable wrapped around a bottle. I have converted the text to a path and combined the paths into one compound path. I tried to use an envelope d...

Re: EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed
Yes, I tried an assortment of files and the one you attached above, too, all with the same result. Thanks so much for the help and the recommendations. At least I have been able to use ps2pdf from the command line and convert the eps files that I need into pdf, which import with no problems. I will ...

Re: EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed
screenshot command window.png Really, there's no error message in the command window, just a blinking cursor forever. That is exactly what I did before. It's just not cooperating. The program throws out the "Failed to load requested file" error message and you can see the screenshot of th...

Re: EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed
At first I thought it was just waiting as before but just now I looked again and the cursor is blinking on the line below the last entry, at the far left with no leading text. The command window is unresponsive. I can type in a command and press enter, but nothing happens - no errors, no text with t...

Re: EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed
Yes, DOS. I'm an old.
That was easy, I was trying to make it complicated. It just opened up the Inkscape GUI, no errors.

Re: EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed
I am not very experienced using the command line. [most of the experience I have predates Windows, showing my age, lol] I tried to import an eps file using the command line. It may be that I had the incorrect command, but this is what I could glean from internet searches. Here is the command dialogu...

EPS files won't import, but Ghostscript is correctly installed
I am trying to import EPS files into Inkscape. I installed Ghostscript and edited the path in the environment variables, moving the GS lines up to the middle of the list. Now, EPS files show up to import but when I select and click import, I get the error message: Failed to load requested file ...
