Re: Announcing first *official* forum
tylerdurden, best to post that in the new forum, if you have a hope to get these things either fixed, added, or explained, depending on the issue. To my understanding, this forum is in a trial period (of unknown length). If a majority of members don't like it, it should be possible to install a full...

Re: Spot Colors
No, of course not you Ragnar. I'm sure those who are responsible know who they are. Just for everyone's general information, I'm done with this forum. I can no longer participate in a community where this type of behavior is allowed, and not just with impunity, but with admiration. I've done everyth...

Re: Spot Colors
For the record, if it appears that a member doesn't understand something, I think it would be more constructive if you used some gentle guidance, rather than blunt negativity and sarcasm. Our community is known as a friendly one and I'd appreciate others trying to keep it that way, as I do.

Oohh, I didn't read far enough down the article. I see that spot color also means CMYK, which Inkscape does not support. Sorry for the misinfo.

Re: Spot Colors
I had never heard of "spot color" so I looked it up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spot_color As far as I understand that, it should be easily possible with Inkscape. But you could also ask the printer to clarify what they mean. From my experience reading forum messages (and not with any a...

Re: Pointillism not showing up once exported
When I tested it, I found that the pointilism effect was very blurry on the PNG, compared to in Inkscape. If it was any blurrier, I might not even notice it. But after some research, I realized that I had accidentally exported at 300 dpi. Previously I had tested something for someone using 300 dpi. ...

Re: creation plotter cutter ct1200
We might need some more info. Are you exporting to a particular format? Or using a specific Inkscape extension? It could be because the paths aren't connected? Maybe it reaches the end of the first path, and never picks up the next path? Or maybe your machine requires the paths be a certain color or...

Re: Expand curve with pen shape for calligraphy
Inkscape has a Calligraphy tool. It doesn't work exactly how you describe. Unless you use a graphics pen and tablet, you have to use the mouse to draw the letters/characters with. Some years ago, Lazur was working on something like this. Let's see if I can find the topic.... I can't seem to find it....

Re: [Extension] Architectural Dimensions
You could upload as many as you want. I guess it depends on how you have them packaged. You can only upload one file at a time on the website, so however many PY and INX files the extension contains, I guess you would zip them together. If you have 5 or 6 and they are all related, you could still zi...

(That is the fix mentioned in the bug report. I thought it might be less confusing to post it separately.)

Re: Techniques for adding shadow colors
In this situation, I would make the stroke on the hand/arm a separate object. Then you have everything stacked on top of each other - the stroke on top, then the shading object, then the hand/arm on the bottom. - Duplicate the hand/arm - Remove the stroke from the original - Remove the fill from the...

Re: "thank you" button
Unfortunately not in this forum. We don't really have contact with the owner of this forum anymore. I'd be glad to implement something like that on Inkscape Community forum (see my signature). However, it will be essentially closed soon, because we're planning on opening a new forum on the Inkscape ...

Re: (Inkscape 0.92.4) Why don't my downloaded fonts show?
MarinaV, specifically this is that fix: add the line <dir>~/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Fonts</dir> below the line <dir>WINDOWSFONTDIR</dir> in the file "...\Inkscape\etc\fonts\fonts.conf" It's sort of written in "developer-speak" so if you need it simplified more, let us kno...

Or, if you have Inkscape set up for Wide view (View menu > Wide) then the command bar is on the right side of the window, and the T icon might not be visible. You can either set it for View menu > Default, to put the command bar back on top, or click on the tiny arrow at the bottom of the command ba...

Re: Copy and Paste from Inkscape to Powerpoint
If you dragged out a text box with the Text tool and typed in the box, you created Flowed Text. Flowed text can only be seen in Inkscape. Instead, you should click once on the canvas and start typing, to create regular text. Or you can convert the flowed text to regular text. Text menu > Convert to ...

I've just finished setting up the boards and categories. It's much like both the forums already are,...

Also re Inkscape on Windows.
If you want to keep your older version, you could get the 7Z package of the current version, and not have to uninstall the old version. However, if you want to get the EXE or MSI package you must uninstall the old version first.

Yeah, I first looked up "momo" (when this was first posted) and found some not nice things about it. I kind of question using that term for this effect.
