Re: eps transparency
You have to choose PDF 1.4, PDF 1.5 or Postscript output. Anyway Preflight Verifier informs you that the material has transparency that cannot handle.

Inkscape Lite on Mandriva Linux
Today I compiled the lite version of Inkscape to Mandriva Linux. This Inkscape (Inkscape Lite or simply InkLite) comes from the very small distribution Puppy Linux. The current "official" version is: inkscapelite-0.36.3-mdv2009.1-i686 1. Download here: http://brtkr.extra.hu/downloads.php?c...

Re: Tutorial :: Outlined text with 3D effect
you said:
I'm a silly boy. I don't understand the word offset.
What does "offset" mean?
The dictionary says:
to balance
to import
to push
to compenzate
to bend
to grow
...
These verbs don't mean the same.
What does it exactly mean?
Group my text and offsets,...

Re: Tutorial :: Outlined text with 3D effect
"linked offset" does not work at 20th try. ungroup/group does nothing stroke to path and break apart maybe. I don't know what I did at 50th try. But it goes as your pics show. Perspective filter doesn't work at first time. Inkscape missed python-numply and its depedencies. So now filter wo...

Re: Conversion from .ai to .svg issue
I think you passed the capabilities of Uniconvertor.
Uniconvertor imports Adobe Illustrator up to 9 ver. (AI postscript based) as it's said on page.
You'd convert your ai file to at least version 9 so that Uniconvertor can handle and convert to svg.

Fill-opacity error
Recenty I used Inkscape 0.46 on Mandriva 2008.1 and there was no problem about fill-opacity. I changed to 2009.1 still using version 0.46 and the following error occured: I cannot set colors more from value 245 !!! Example: I want full white with R=255, G=255, B=255 but there's a limit on the slider...

Re: Map
About maps.
I created some compasses (north symbols) for maps.
You can check them here right:
http://brtkr.extra.hu/downloads.php?cat_id=14
SVG and PNG.
You can use them on your work because they're free.

Re: Pale print
I'm happy. Do you have ICC color profiles? If you recently installed any Adobe product (ie. Photoshop or Indesign) all the ICC (and ICM) files are installed in your Color folder in Windows (as I remember). I'm not sure that Scribus will find these files so you have to set the correct path to ICC fol...

Re: Text problem with Inkscape -> Scribus
You'd better install the latest Scribus (1.3.5svnRC3). So many errors are solved.
Inkscape can export to rastered PNG in 300dpi and export to PDF, as well.
Inkscape is not a DTP program, so don't wait too much about text processing.

Re: "Ghostscript" is missing -> how to solve?
Not enough installing it! GhostScript is needed to read and write vector objects, ie. PDF. If Scribus will not find GhostScript (gs) you have to set the path to: Preferences - External Tool - PostScript Interpreter - Name of Executable. If you wanna much more better gaphics you'd better set Resoluti...
