Re: Making a flowing ribbon

Glad it was of some use :)
There may be better ways to do this - could also tweak the ribbon around the fold - or make it wrap different ways......

Text over an arc - ideas [solved]

Was reading through the newsgroup postings and there was an interesting thread about placing text over an arc while only curving one side. I tried a few ways and came up with this workaround - not actually following the curve but the font lets you get away with it... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums...

I find Alt+Click the easiest. Each click cycles through selected objects beneath the cursor

When using this method are the selections supposed to remain selection or are they supposed to change to nodes?

You can use Shift+Alt+Click to select multiple objects

Glad you got it working :)

Text on a path - a two minute tutorial

This is covered by the manual but was requested in another thread...so here's a quick n' dirty tutorial :) 1: Create some text and your path http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/the_jinj/tap1.png 2: Select the text and convert to a path http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/the_jinj/tap2.png 3: Selec...

Just tried it and it worked as expected for me - you did convert the text to a path first? Select both paths, the text first ....only things I can think of where it might have went wrong...

Okay, I wasn't going to give up this little gem.. but this community has been so helpful and friendly. This is a color scheme tool that I often turn to when deciding on colors for web design. tbh if I had the original shape and wanted to change it that's the way I would probably do it - also makes tweaking easier - if you cut out using difference you would probably end up moving points anyway..... :)

Is it possible to change posted links to open in a new tab/window by default - at the moment they open in the same window - kind of annoying if you forget to hold shift ;)
