hey guys, thanks for the help! i managed to do the trick by splitting the path in two and adding a new one i between having the other color... i dont think this is what you two suggested but i didnt really understand how to do it as i am very new to inkscape (and very impressed as well!!). thanks ag...

i really hope, this has not been answered before but i could not find anything related by searching.
i have a path with a lot of nodes. to emphasize a certain portion of that path i want to change the color between two of its nodes. (how) is this possible?
