Re: Load Your Locker
It looks like that font leaves a bit too much space after M's. Look at "Home" and "Gmail". (Also after the W in "we can help"). You may want to alter the kerning a bit. Or maybe I'm just being picky.

The spiro function in the development builds could be what you're looking for. Give it a try.

Re: Text shadow (not drop shadow)
Not the most fancy solution, but one technique is to: 1. Make your text black 2. Convert it to a path 3. This actually creates a group of paths, so ungroup them and perform a union 4. Duplicate it ( Ctrl + D ) 5. Hold alt to lock move increments to 1 pixel, and press left and up (to achieve the same...

You could try using the "stroke to path" function and putting that on top of the other paths.

File->Export Bitmap allows you to save it as a PNG.

Re: How To Set Font Location When Using Jump Drive
If you're using Windows, Inkscape (and almost every other program) will look for fonts in your Windows font folder, located in the control panel.
If you have access to a computer's font folder, you can just copy the fonts from your jump drive into that folder.

Re: How to draw economics graphs
Why not just generate a graph with a spreadsheet application? You can try Open Office , a free (open source) office productivity suite that includes a word processor, presentation maker, spread sheet editor, and drawing application. For a standalone spreadsheet program, try Gnumeric , which is also ...

Hmm... that's weird. Go to HP's website and make sure you have the latest drivers. If that doesn't work, you could try exporting your work as a PNG image and printing that.

Re: Inkscape and Illustrator compatability
Inkscape does not use a proprietary file type. It uses SVG, a standard format for vector images that should be readable by both Corel Draw and Illustrator. Just make sure that when you save, you change the type to plain SVG. However, I think you should check if Corel Draw has an option to either sav...

Not the most critical feature, but I see how that can be useful, depending on your style.
A toggle button would definitely be a great for this.

Re: White gap surrounding fill.
Edit: Looks like Slow Dog and I were typing a reply at the same time. Not so slow after all. You must be using the paint bucket :tool_paintbucket: tool. It's not very exact; it takes an almost raster-like approach to filling a space. However, if the shape you are trying to fill is closed, you can a...

Re: Resizing text boxes without scaling text?
If you made a text box without the click-and-drag technique, I don't think you can resize it. You could try using the click-and-drag method to create a new text box, and copy and paste the text from the previous one.

If you haven't already, download the latest drivers for your printer from the manufacturer's website. If that doesn't work, try exporting the image as a PNG and printing it with another application.

Re: Change document rendering size without touching my objects?
Instead of saving your document as an SVG and having another application convert it, you could export a PNG file directly from Inkscape. Just goto file->export bitmap. You will get a dialog with a bunch of options for sizing your document.

Do you really need the exact same font? There are plenty of (free) calligraphic fonts out there that will provide the same general effect. Take a look at this website.

There's one in the Fill and Stroke Dialog (Shift+Ctrl+F)
To keep the blur inside a set radius, duplicate the object you want to blur and use it for clipping.

Re: .ink file format....Why not?
I imagine complying with the SVG standard can make seemingly simple features very hard to implement. I'm sure the Inkscape devs would love to have their own file type. But for the most part, I think complying with the SVG format only slows things down, it doesn't make them impossible. Sticking to th...
