Re: combine objects/clones

Nope, but that sounds like the kind of thing I need to do. I simply grouped them with the group button. Paths are new to me, so I haven't ventured too far in that direction yet. Is there a good tutorial that can explain them on a basic level, how they work, and what they work with? For example, I've...

Re: combine objects/clones

Why should you not clone a clone (sorry if that's a silly question - I've just jumped in and started experimenting)? I started with one dot, then cloned that to get the line of dots. Re: Move objects closer together

Thank you, that makes sense. I'll give that a go. What I have looks random, because I added a random factor to the clone tiling for both the rotation and the spacing. Then I think I did something with the distribution that made them less in a circle. Yes, that worked, but I had to deselect then rese...

Move objects closer together

I am new to inkscape and experimenting with different techniques. I am trying to recreate something similar to this pattern: http://static4.depositphotos.com/1006024/279/v/450/dep_2795523-Seamless-swirl-pattern.jpg This is what I have so far, and I would like to bring all of the objects closer toget...
