Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

Hi, Also since the equipment of the user is reporting a problem in the logs, that's where the problem should be thoroughly investigated. Upgrade modem firmware? google for that log event and hardware on forums? As I said earlier, I posted about my problem on an other forum. ADSL-BC is a Belgian fren...

Re: User Interface Recommendation

This is how inkscape organize "data" right now and it. It's a bit like Gimp which had for (too) long only 1 level of layer hile other gfx app have nested (sub)layer for years. And I bet it won't take long before someone ask for them in inkscape. Then, layers won't be no more at the top of...

Yes, your site works for me.

But it's not on the same server than inkscapeforum.com, is it? It seems to be hosted on this IP: 174.120.234.154.

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

i wouldn't assume that it's something wrong with the web server. the train of requests and responses look right to me. i have setup and run apache and other web servers before amongst other things, and all i can say it looks good for me. Maybe there's nothing really wrong, but maybe it's just diffe...

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

so does the 301 (permanently moved) redirect succeed on your side or not? if it does not, then we sniff the actual packets during this request and response, and check the headers etc. there's no real reason why a 301 should not be handled correctly by equipment, unless it is mis-configured. an over...

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

Hi, chriswww you should have used the code tags to display this. I don't think we can debug the problem with this, because it just tels you that the browser downloaded several files (images, CSS, Javascript), there is not much more information than what we can find in the page source. I could get so...

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

The only thing we can do about it is to contact DreamHost to tell them we found a bug. Thank you for researching this. I'll pass the information to my host and see what they say. No problem. I'd be happy to find a solution for myself, but if there is a solution to apply to the server that would wor...

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

Where did you find that log, Mathieu147? I want to try and find mine. You have to connect to the router's administration interface. You usually can do that by going to http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.0 but it can be something else depending on your router. It's possible you'll have to provid...

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

Couldn't you buy your own router? There are bazillions of routers out there. Of course you have to buy it, and your ISP's router is probably free with the service. I'm in the US, and chose to buy my own, rather than use the free one, because I knew I could get a better product. On the other hand, m...

Maybe you are, but if you don't: use jQuery. That will be quite easy using the data() method.

Re: Problem with router firewall -- DNS misconfiguration??

Hi, My router had a problem last monday, so I had to change it. With the new one, I can't turn the firewall off, so I can't access InkscapeForum.com anymore… The router is the new «box» from my ISP (Belgacom). Just like the old one, but the new version. I just called the tech service and they told m...

Re: Help! How to 'rotate canvas'?

Why would they need to rotate the canvas when rotating the graphics tablet does the same thing? If necessary, they can rotate their whole desk, which would rotate the tablet and the monitor (which rotates the canvas). A tablet is not really easy to use because you draw something on your tablet that...

Re: node usage : ctrl click should preserve original curve

But the english counter-part ("hard point") is not very understandable either, what could it mean? The (untranslated, original) interface of Inkscape uses these terms: ⋅ cusp node (can have retracted (i.e. no) handles, or extracted independent handles) ⋅ smooth node &s...

Great, I didn't know one could change the node type with ctrl+clic! French version call it a 'point de rebroussement' which is quite laughable imho Oui ça c'est vrai que c'est un peu ridicule comme nom… That's true it's a ridiculous name… But the english counter-part ("hard point") is not ...

On Linux, Inkscape 0.48.3 uses GTK 2.24 and presure sensivity works well. Isn't there a 0.48.3 version for Windows, too?

Re: Any tool for translating text inside SVG XML?

Do you have many files to translate, or do you have many languages to translate to, or is/are your file(s) big and complex? If you answer no to all of these questions, you should just use a text editor to search/replace all your texts. If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, you'd b...

Hello, I don't know Visio, but as far as I understand, it is a diagram-drawing program, is that correct? In that case, I suppose it has many features about that that Inkscape doesn't have, just because Inkscape is meant to be a generalist software. Everything you do with Visio can be done with Inksc...

Hi,

It seems to me that the perspective is a little bit strange. For example, the three little bars on the top of the screen don't seem to be parallel to the edge of the screen.
