So I just created anew file from scratch and remade the entire banner from scratch. SAME PROBLEM!..... But all may not be lost...... I may have found a work around! When you print in Inkscape it gives you the option of print preview. This opens Preview with a pdf. So is the pdf in any way compromise...

I just tested a new .svg file with a simple white box and a drop shadow filter. This worked perfectly to there must be some kind of file corruption on my project?

I cant seem to attach the svg - it just times out. The svg is 25mb. Does this seem about right? The canvas size is .8 x 1.8 meters...

Thank you all for your efforts! After playing around with the perspective tool a bit more I did eventually get it to work. I used the pdf copy of the logo and followed the basic perspective process and it worked this time! This was in a new document, so I guess the error was specific to the inkscape...
