Thanks Brynn and ~suv for your tips. It solves the problem in part.

I was wondering if it is also possible to use fractions, subscript, superscript etc as well.

If you use the Pen (Bezier) tool, you don't need to be smooth. And if you use the Pencil tool, there's a setting on the tool control bar for smoothing. Thanks brynn for help as well. :) Sorry for the delay, I don't have 24hr internet connection atm. I need your help (again!) regarding putting texts...

Thanks for your information, prkos. I tried but I'm not really sure how to do it. :( I was wondering if I can do it without the math involved. In other words, image the drawing canvas and then all the curves and other things that you can put in MS Word. If it's possible in Inscape (or anything else ...
