The V has no serifs. So shouldn't I be able to just drag the corners up to the guideline? But I don't want the extending "line" to sway, making the V fatter or skinnier. When the node touched the guideline, some small text appeared. I could not see what it said.

Surrounding the swish are various markings, either broken of the swish or just experiments to see if commands will work when it doesn't involve the swish.
