Hi Brynn,
I found how to group the objects together which was another thing I was struggling with, and now the extended part is no longer an issue.

Squeeze / Stretch Layer. How Get Rid of It?
I want to make an icon 48 pixels square, and I got three layers. The bottom is 48, the middle is 46 and it fits inside, and the top is a letter text and to make the letter fill the box, the layer is 66 wide. Can I fill the box with the letter without making my icon 66 wide? Actually, this 66 wide th...

How Select Items to Group?
I got three layers and want to group them. I can only select one layer at a time.
I click on group command and it doesn't group anything.

Re: Weathered Stenciled Sign Look: How Create?
Hi,
I'm using v.46 and didn't see any filters but the Help Menu says something about filters in .47. I'll upgrade and check it out. Thanks.

Why Can I See Through 100% Opaque Font?
Why can I see through a 100% opaque font and see some font text under it?
I made 100% opaque font and put it on top of another font text and I can see a little through the top to see what's underneath. Why is that if it's 100% opaque?

Separate Border and Fill Opacity
How control opacity of border and fill separately? I made a rectangle with a border ( I think it's the Stroke in Inkscape) and a fill color. In Fill and Stroke Dialog, when I change Fill or Stroke Paint opacity they both seem to do the same thing. They both affect the fill and the border opacity at ...

Weathered Stenciled Sign Look: How Create?
I want to make an image that looks like an old weathered stenciled sign. I started by using San Diego font in black for a stencil look and put it in a rectangle with a border and filled it with a color with gradient from the middle out to give some variation to the fill color . I would like to distr...

What Font Did I Use?
Can Inkscape identify a font it created earlier? I created an image with some text and saved it as an .svg file. I want to use that same font for something else, but don't remember what font it is. I opened the file but Inkscape doesn't seem to recognize the font. I can't select the text. Is it no l...

Paint Undefined on Opened File. Can I Change Fill Color?
I opened a drawing I had already made and saved as an .svg file. I want to change the fill color but in Fill the color is listed as undefined. This is a simple rectangle with black text and some blue fill with a gradient I want to change to red. Is the color locked in as blue now and unchangable?
