I updated the feature request with an idea for fuzzy selection for selecting objects with same size which could also extend to the Select Same Fill Colour option. Take a look and add your thoughts!

Re: Select objects with similar size

The SVG was created in Processing with a modified version of the following sketch https://www.openprocessing.org/sketch/694218 It's PDF and SVG export libraries probably do need some work. Mostly I was suggesting by my example the combining of the paths (which are in little pieces in order to perhap...

Re: Select objects with similar size

I've never heard of putting specifically extension requests in the bug tracker. But it could be added just as a general feature request. Who knows, maybe some developer would want to make it a native feature? Here's the new bug tracker: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/issues Thanks, I'll definite...

Re: Select objects with similar size

I don't know about removal, but you can join the nodes that overlap, to get real curves, instead of many disconnected lines. Thanks! That extension looks like it'll be very useful, especially as I plan to use a plotter to draw these images. I remember a couple of users asking about an extension to ...

Select objects with similar size

Is there any way to select objects based on their size? I know that there are already functions for selecting objects with the same colour and stroke, but I have a document with lots of small objects that I'd like to remove.

Document attached.

Brilliant! Thanks for the information. I guess for now I'll have to use the XML editor :-)

Re: Setting CSS layer blend modes

I don't clearly understand what you're asking. But I see Extensions menu > Web > Slicer. There are 3 related extensions there (and "slicer" doesn't seem to be the best description), which I think together write the HTML/CSS for you. I'm not sure how they would handle the blend modes thoug...

I'm using a service called Cheap Bots Done Quick to post an image of an SVG to Twitter https://cheapbotsdonequick.com/ I know there's other ways to do this but for this specific purpose I need to use this service. I didn't know about Can I use... thanks for bringing it to my attention! I have tried ...

Re: Setting CSS layer blend modes

Hmm didn't remember that topic. That topic is from another inkscape website. The filter editor can be used to create a custom filter and making it accessible in the file; the objects panel (Objects/Objects...) and the layer panel can be used for adding simple blend filters to objects. Needs some te...

Setting CSS layer blend modes

I'm trying to get inkscape blend modes recognised in Firefox and Chrome but like many I've noticed that the way that Inkscape does it (via filters) isn't recognised in browsers. After some research I've found that blend modes can be set via css https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/mix-bl...

Here's some more info about the current state in the current SVG spec: http://tavmjong.free.fr/blog/?p=765 I don't think there has anything changed for SVG 2.0: https://svgwg.org/svg2-draft/painting..html#46;

Gradient interpolation types

Is there a way to change interpolation types for gradients in Inkscape? At the moment only two types of interpolation (or smooth) are available, Coons and Bicubic, and even these are only available when using the gradient mesh tool. Too help explain what I mean I've attached a few different types of...

Re: Convert fill to stroke

Hi. For efficient plotting you would want a continuous line, the plotter would then not need to lift the pen which slow down the plotting. Easiest way to add hatching which is a continuous line is to use the extensions made for the Eggbot plotter. Eggbot Overview Link to the extensions: Extensions ...

Convert fill to stroke

I'm using the Inkscape/Silhouette extension to use a Silhouette vinyl cutter as a platting machine. It's really great at cutting outlines but I now want to use it to fill in shapes. To do this I imagine I would have to convert the fill into a series of strokes that the pen can follow. Is there a way...

(Tab moves selection to the next object.) Then, they're all grouped and ready ...

Separate objects to layers

I have a layer in Inkscape that has around 50 objects. I want to separate these objects out into their own layers. Is there an automated way to do this in Inkscape? It appears it was either a temporary glitch or just an error on my part! Saving as plain SVG appears to work.

Decatenate/split path commands in svg files

I'm currently attempting to address a bug in another prorgam called nodebox , whereby the svg parser has trouble interpreting svgs that have their path commands concatenated. Bug link [nodebox svg parser] can' t handle svg paths where the commands are concatenated to the values to preserve space. (i...
