Ah ha! Ok, so for that circle your convert to text trick works. Also, there seems to be a difference in the way linux/mac versions of inkscape handle text because when I opened back up your edited version the text was shifted downward my a noticeable amount. Well, I did what you described exactly as above. I chose the "I' with the pointer, went to text - convert to text and then saved the file. Opened it up in chrome and it didn't work. I also tried double clicking into the box, highlighting the letter, and then went to text- convert to text and th...

White Letters over Black Bar
I can't seem to get white letters in front of a black background to show up in anything other than inkskcape (Illustrator, Chrome, Firefox..). I will attach the sample file of my problem area, if someone could tell me how to get the letters to show up over the black half cross I would appreciate it....
