I've drawn paths but when I clip I am left with the background instead of the picture is there any way to invert the selection?

Sorry I'm still utterly confused. I tried looking at the manual but I can't see anything in there to help

Am I right in thinking once you have saved text you can't edit it, that doesn't seem to make sense
