Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inks
@Everyone Sorry I haven't been on here lately... after some people have commented it has re-sparked my interest in the app. I have been working on a completely redesigned version but unfortunately it is very slow and still needs much reworking. @Mr Grumpy With the USB plugged in try: ls /dev | grep ...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inks
Yep, the problem was a permission issue. If you this error message in the extensions-error log under (.config/inkscape) Extension "InkCut v1.0" failed to load because a dependency was not met. Dependency: type: executable location: extensions string: inkcut/inkcutext.py Try this command su...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inks
I was able to work around the other problem, but I can't get Inkcut to cleanly cut rectangles. Even in the preview, with offset and overcut turned off, one edge of each rectangle is slanted. Any ideas? http://rcheliguy.dyndns.org/temp/inkcutproblem.jpg -Farrell Looks like another bug, I think it as...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inks
Thanks for this! I'm really excited to be able to cut in linux. I'm noticing a few problems. - When I tell the program to cut more than one image, it seems to stack them over itself, basically cutting itself twice. I can work around this and just duplicate the graphic in inkscape, but I figure I'd ...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
Hi there I have a creation ct-630 and it cuts fine if the file is small but if the file is to big and detailed it stops at some point. I have printed to file and used (split) to split the file in chunks of 100000 bytes and if i send them 1 by 1 waiting for the machine to stop before sending the oth...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
Great extension, been after something like this for a long time. Actually ran a plotter that my sign program in Win would not. I did have to install a couple of files to make it work in Kubuntu Lucid: librsvg2-common python-serial (as stated in readme) The plotter is a Creation, only problem was th...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
#1, correct, I changed that and forgot to update the tooltip For #2, it does represent the width of the material (it's sized by the material width given), however this is not the "cutable" width. It assumes that the blade is lined up with the edge of the material, then adds the margin and ...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
Second, something for the wishlist: an option 'mirror' would be great. I'm cutting garment venyl films for textile printing so I always have to plot a mirrored version of the images. OK, sorry - I just found the axis -frame with the Invert y-axis option. But there's a problem: The Add Stacks -optio...

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
i love your program but i have one problem, no matter what i do it cuts the inverse of what i need. I have a refine mh-635 and have tried putting a check next to the axes but it doesn't seem to do anything. Any help would be appreciated. By inverse do you mean mirrored over the x axis? If so, check...

Below is the old versions 0.1 and 0.2 for reference Here's how to use it.... 1. Open your svg 2. Select the path you want to cut, it must be at least one path, no groups, no objects. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_CkfrACggM6Q/S70i59UlaqI/AAAAAAAAAfU/BYveoY06EcU/s800/Screenshot.png 3. Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
I need that sniffer!!!! It would help me with debugging/writing new code soooo much.
As for the difference, what was your force & speed settings? Seems like it was cutting harder on InkCut (it's set to 80g by default).
Thanks for posting this.

Re: InkCut Extension, send HPGL directly to cutter from Inkscape
As of now, no. If you want you can edit the hpgl.py file. Lines 112 and 116/118 have the before and after data commands. replace this starting on line 108 def export(self,spl,copies=1): assert type(spl) == list, "export data must be a list of hpgl commands" spl = self.adjust(spl, copies) if...

Oh, by the way, DMPL went extinct. I don't know why USCutter still supports that command set on their newer cutters.

Re: UScutter LaserPoint 24" Cutter, Working in Linux
Great, that was causing other cutters to hang in waiting mode. To fix with inkcut simply set the "Distance to feed after cut" to a negative number and it will return to the origin. (append the PU0,0; command)
