hello, I've been finding that i'm working with a few white fill objects where a boarder is not really convenient. Problem is, it's next to impossible to pick them out from the white background.
is it possible to set the background to a different colour? preferably a light grey?
thanks.

Re: Use mask on ellipse with gradient fill?
Got it!
And the best part I suppose is that I can go back and tweak EVERYTHING (though I'l have to undo a bit to edit some things)

Re: Use mask on ellipse with gradient fill?
Seems like the gradient is missing - sorry! I had created an ellipse with it's centre just below the hand holding the wand, as I was hoping to get all components of the wings (the green parts) to have a more-or-less seamless gradient that sort of flowed from one wing to the other. EDIT: Got it! Now ...

Use mask on ellipse with gradient fill?
Sorry I would've posted this in my other thread, but when I had fixed a typo on the original post it somehow went poof! any ways, I had managed to get colouring and shading done, but now I'm trying to use a gradient (in the hidden "scratch" layer) instead of the current green for the wings...

Re: How do i split this object up into multiple paths?
Mostly I'm hoping to seamlessly paint it. when I used the fill command it left a gap between the lines and the fill, which I wasn't happy with. I removed the fill and broke it apart it it's separate elements and used layers to fill it. Fairy2.png I'm fairly happy with it; now that I got it looking k...

[Solved] How do i split this object up into multiple paths?
Hello. A while ago I had used gimp to add colour to a sketch from the Pearls before Swine comic: fairy.jpg But I wasn't completely happy with the outcome, so I imported a high resolution scan into Inkscape and used trace bitmap to get this: Fairy.svg The problem is, i've only been using Inkscape for...
