Re: Select objects by overlap with path

Oh, then I should have read the FAQ! I'll do that then.

More flexible/general version of the "Motion" extension?

Hi fellow Inkscapists, I was looking to (1) achieve an effect like with the "Motion" extension. However, my use case is a bit particular, (2) applying it on clones of text ( (2') or at least groups of paths). Right now I do it just by making a small number of duplicates (of the clone) that...

Re: Select objects by overlap with path

Sadly, this won't work with window managers that already use Alt + Left mouse drag for moving windows. But I'm sure someone else will find it useful! And of course it's always good to refer to Tavmjong's site.

Re: Scribus finds fonts which Inkscape doesn't

Thanks for all the info! It's reassuring that this is a known issue, my bad for not checking the bugtracker. Of course I don't want to abuse this forum for bug reports! The reason I wrote in the first place was the fact that it is the same in LibreOffice, but not Scribus. To me that seemed like a hi...

Scribus finds fonts which Inkscape doesn't

Hi everyone, I figured this might be a good place to ask this particular technical question. I'm using Inkscape 0.92.3 and Scribus 1.4.3. My issue is that I have OTF fonts (both bought and free) which are found and usable in Scribus, but not in Inkscape or LibreOffice. If someone knows a difference ...

Re: Select objects by overlap with path

I didn't know the eraser tool! Using that in "delete objects" mode made it pretty convenient, at least for simple shapes. So, thank you! I still think it would be a good feature, especially if you can switch between "any overlap", "at least half the bounding box", or &q...

Select objects by overlap with path

Hi everyone, I thought it would be nice to select objects that are defined by the overlap with a path. You could see it as a "lasso select", but more general since the shape does not need to be hand-drawn on-the-spot. Use example, illustrated in the attached file: I have a complicated path...

Re: Distance-only scaling

Sorry brynn, guess it's too late over here... Now this (see attachment) is what you were asking for, i.e. the "manual" version of achieving the same result. I see the overlap with your wishlist request! Your idea of the interactivity is more fleshed-out than mine. I feel like this feature ...

Of course, sorry I forgot to provide this from the start! Here you go.

Distance-only scaling

My fellow Inkscapists, what do you think about interactive distance-only scaling? Would it be useful for you? Let me elaborate: 1. You all know the interactive scaling of one or object several objects, using the handles on corners and sides of the bounding box. This has modifier keys that (Ctrl) kee...
