yeah, thats true - the mouth should have at least a darker background color.

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

I wouldn't recommend loading up just any old SVG file and running my extension on it. That's definitely not how I intend it to be used, and it's likely that the errors you're seeing are from perfectly acceptable SVG things that my extension can't handle. Examples that will definitely blow it up: pa...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

Nifty! Yeah, I know the workflow is a little bit rough. I've made huge leaps since the original workflow, but it could still use some work, and of course there are the limitations that inkscape imposes on extensions. :) the progress of development is huge! i've been trying the extension from stesie...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

thanks lexelby, the extension is working now. i've been checking the functionality, it's verrryyy cool already for smaller patches. the workflow is a bit rough but the result is pretty nice! i had several issues exporting multiple objects and error messages from the shapely module, but exporting the...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

hey lexelby_, thanks for developing the extension! as far as i've been reading, its pretty versatile already. unfortunately it seems not work on ubuntu 16.04, as you've been reading above. had problems to run it on win 7 also. i am using the 2.0 package of networkx installed via pip, and shapely 1.6...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

You may try more advanced fork of the extension https://github.com/lexelby/inkscape-embroidery thanks for the link, but unfortunately the error message above is still the same. i am wondering - what inkscape version are you using with the extension? seems not to work with inkscape 0.92 pretty bad, ...

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

unfortunately the extension by "sergstetsuk" still doesn't work as intended. tested it on ubuntu 16.04 with all shapely and python dependencies installed. the features mentioned in the readme-file of the extensions are pretty cool, so this extensions would be a solid base to create embroid...

Actually its a good time for a theme with chicken and roosters - especially because the year of the rooster ends 2017. good enough of a reason to have a closer look at the chicks. its cool to take the reference - photography yourself, especially if you have an idea for the theme and you are guessing...

yeah, it's a preview render from the embroidery software shipped with the machine, pretty close to the result on textile. the template is almost ready now, just some rough corners left: http://jelly.haifashion.eu/dl/emb/tuc_nbwt.jpg http://jelly.haifashion.eu/dl/emb/tuc_bbl.jpg

Re: svg to/from embroidery converter

I've been reading this post with interest. I've been doing machine embroidery for over 20 years - first digitising software was DOS based and it is great to see that somebody has finally started being interested in trying to make an open source program. I don't want to in any way discourage you but...

nice stuff, espc. the 3rd from above! i've been reading about fibonacci and his work lately, he was pretty much a genius juggling with numbers and proportions. truly amazing if you look at the geometry of nature from fibonaccis' point of view and how he puts the determination of proportions into mat...

thanks! About your problems/questions... I wonder where the 10,000 come into play. Granted, I don't really know about embroidery. Does this really require that many nodes?!? I'm just asking because in my own drawings I rarely ever have more than say 50 nodes in a single shape, most times there are f...

thanks! Could you "shake" him/her a bit - some gesture with the wings or with the body? would be cool if i could easily do that but that's pretty hard. i'm still struggling with wings an their proportions. nice gestures with wings are somewhat of a challenge. at last i was experimenting wi...
