Oh this is so good ! That "Object to path" trick was exactly what I was looking for ! Now I can roughly create my layout in a couple moves and then tweak it to be more natural. Thanks a million, this really makes my day :-) Regarding the clone paving it was a mistake, I meant clone tiling....
