Those were extremely helpful and I feel like an idiot to some extent. By NOT merging my lines layer and colors layer before saving a PNG to load into Inkscape and doing trace bitmap, I get a MUCH crisper lined and colored image. Well, Renesis is a ton better than I had before this - which was absolutely nothing. Sure, Irfanview and Xnview do have the capability for addons to allow you to view SVG thumbs within them, but for viewing SVG thumbs natively in XP, this is the ONLY file I've found that has worked.

I can't get the above extension to register - BUT - I did find the Renesis Player, which actually works the same way, and allows Windows XP to show you thumbnails of SVG files. Awesome!
