Re: Inkscape for print
No, I hadn't! Thanks! I am trying that now and can't quite figure out exactly what to do. When I select CMS, and I choose the profile, it shows me CMYK (and A) bars with some unusual values (all decimal points- as seen in your picture). (As a side note, It is all very "jumpy" --things are ...

Re: Inkscape for print
Ok, back at work and still chipping away at this. I now have 0.91 installed, I have a colour profile installed in the correct directory (as far as I can tell). The colour profile shows up on inkscape, and I have selected it (unless I am missing something, I am attaching a screen shot to show this) B...

Re: Inkscape for print
Sorry to take so long to get back to you!
Inkscape 0.48.2 running on a Mac OS
The options are mostly "generic" (generic CMYK, generic gray, generic lab, generic rgb, generic xyz) and the only one that looks applicable is the generic cmyk.

Re: Inkscape for print
Thank you tylerdurden! That does clarify a lot of things. I have just one question. The article says: "First of all, make sure your profiles are in ~/.local/share/color/icc folder. Then start Inkscape and head over to File / Document Properties (or Ctrl+Shift+D), switch to Color Management tab ...

Inkscape for print
Sorry to bring up a topic that has probably been covered, but I see a lot of very old threads and was hoping there had been a development. I have decided that THIS project is the project for which I am going to buckle down and use Inkscape from start to finish... but I just want to make sure that I ...

Re: logo was converted to bitmap
Xav, you hit the nail on the head!
I went to preferences and un-checked "update pasteboard when clipboard changes" and that seems to have solved it.
Thank you so much!

Re: logo was converted to bitmap
Possibly related: Now I have become paranoid about keeping the vector "pure" and so I re-did the logo and kept it alone in a file. I grouped it together, copied it and pasted it to another document (so that I could work on some colour tryouts) and it would not un-group. I tried copy-pastin...

[solved] logo was converted to bitmap
 I have been working on a logo (actually a logotype, since it is only text) and I went to make some changes (put it inside a coloured square) and I came to the horrible realization that I had converted it to bitmap. No idea how long ago, since I am still able to make changes to the text and hav...

Making text follow a sphere
I have a logo that I am designing, I met with the clients and proposed a simple logo type and, to give it a bit more depth, shape, or "je ne sais quoi", I proposed that it have a 3D effect of being on a spherical grid. Only now I realize that I actually have no idea how to do that in inksc...

Re: Colour changes
Thanks Lazur URH. I see that I need a "fantastic lxml wrapper" for that. I downloaded it from the site and dragged it to my applications folder, but must confess that I have no idea what to do with it now, having never installed something that didn't come with an installation dialogue box....

Colour changes
I designed my first logo in inkscape and now that it looks great and has been approved by the client, I need to put it in a brochure where it is white (the prototype was black). The logo consists of two lines of text and an arrow, and I am really having the worst time trying to figure out how to cha...
