Re: cutting/segmenting a spiral?
Hi. Great tip! It would be nice if the abbreviations is spelled out completely first time used. For a beginner the letters LPE is just a group of “random” characters that don’t make any sense. If we spell out completely like this: LPE (Live Path Effects) the letters make more sense. The “improper” u...

Hi Brynn: For the record, if it appears that a member doesn't understand something, I think it would be more constructive if you used some gentle guidance, rather than blunt negativity and sarcasm. Our community is known as a friendly one and I'd appreciate others trying to keep it that way, as I do...

Re: Spot Colors
Hi. If you use the Pantone Palette I made you have the spot color names available. See this thread: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=14045 Would be simple to make a pyhon script to extract all the colors used in the SVG file and either save to a separate text file for the "Printer&q...

Hi. The LaTEX extension does not work "out of the box" but needs some additional pieces of software to work. Have a look at this link and follow the instructions found. Please "chime back" if you are not successful. We will try our best to get you going. Another good way to incor...

Hi.
Try saving as PDF and then print the PDF file.
Printing directly from Inkscape works like a charm here using Inkscape 0.92.4 on Windows 10.
( Works on my Linux boxes as well )

Hi.
This might be an easy extension to write. Anyone up for the challenge?
If not I might give it a try.

Hi. As Lazur said, use Extensions -Render - Function plotter. Make the whole of the canvas visible by pressing the number five key on the main keyboard (not the num 5 on the numpad) Draw a rectangle filling most of the canvas. Let the rectangle stay selected. ( If it's not selected Press F1 and then...

Hi
Very Nice !!
"Difficult" to find in the "Render" extension group - might be worth making it's own "CAD_Tools" or something similar?
Might also be useful to catch input errors which now result in "math domain error"?
Nice Code!

Re: Unwanted duplicated nodes
Hi. Moini, by using your preferences file I still get the same result, the 8 node path turns into a 9 node path when moved. Even without duplicating the path this happens here. Are you "monitoring" the number of nodes in the status line? As the duplicate are on top of another node the dupl...

Re: Unwanted duplicated nodes
Hi Interesting case. The object with 8 nodes can be moved small distance without getting an extra node. When moving a larger distance the extra node appears. This is true for all the 8 node objects in Ponny's file. Tried experimenting with the number of decimals in the path string. (made a small pyt...

Re: Path outset problem
Hi
Interesting! I can confirm the same behavior on my system as well.
I use Inkscape 0.92.3 (2405546, 2018-03-11) on Win10.
When I set the outset preferences to 5px (pixels) i get an offset of 5mm.
Might be an "undocumented feature" (bug) in the current version?

Re: How to make my own personalized color pallette
Hi. Yes - just use notepad. The gpl file is a "pure" text file - decoded by Inkscape (or GIMP) to give you a palette. I have made several python programs to generate nice palettes. Search the forum for "palette" to find a few of the generated palettes. Like this one: http://www.i...

Re: How to make my own personalized color pallette
Hi. This is easy. Find your palette.gpl file, rightclick the file and choose "open with"- select your favorite text editor, you can use notepad on a windows system. You will then see something similar to this in your palette file: GIMP Palette Name: Material Design Columns: 254 # 0 0 0 BLA...

I see this as a dog-head profile where the dog has open mouth and bent ears.
Others see it as a glove?

Hi.
