Re: [Bug] Pixelated vectors

I saw that issue discussed on another inskcape forum, and I believe it's already been reported (sorry I don't have more info).

Re: designing a font

wow, you've put a LOT of thought into this process, kudos to that. I think given the nature of technology these days, it would be nice if there was a class taught in elementary school on this, so right off the bat, the youngins' would have their 'life' set up at the get go, before it gets to the com...

Re: Not responding when ungrouping a specific file

Just to try a diff approach, perhaps there's a bad byte precisely where that group is located - what happens if you do a 'save as' of the entire file? Small chance, but worth a shot that it will work when that file is opened.

Re: Momo effect

Druban, the end result was shown at the very front of the vid (the word MoMo itself). It's basically using the voroni effect and randomize color. I've actually never used randomize color, so that was an interesting use! Learn something new every day right. I looked up momo also, so many meanings, an...

And just a hint. Once you click on the elipse tool, you can hold down your ctrl key while you drag the handle, and that will keep it as a perfect circle, otherwise the sizing of height and width can change.

Re: Making Business card Template

Are you using the exact same card sizes as they used in the tut? It gets a little frustrating (for me) to do business cards in Inkscape, as there are so many sizes. I'd suggest first looking at the Avery packaging and ensure you are using those exact measurements vs what's in the tut. To be honest, ...

Re: Inverting an image that's already traced as a Bitmap

Perhaps I'm not understanding totally, but I seem to do the out of the box fixes from what everyone else does anyway, lol. I'm thinking you could duplicate your text, then do either an inset/outset or dynamic offset to get the white part. Or, basically duplicate twice and make one larger, then path ...

Re: designing a font

whoa, that's a lot of 'stuff'! Good idea to make each glyph a separate file, but why not just share one font file from inkscape? I would go crazy if I didn't name my many subfolders by description vs number. Numbers would mean nothing to me. But then again, I have that typical female thing where for...

Re: designing a font

Lazur, how's the font coming along? I started playing with it about 1 1/2 yrs ago, wow, there's so much involved. I've forgotten more than I learned unfortunately, lol. I ended up using Inkscape to make a font, then uploaded it to FF to run it through their tests to work the bugs out. One day, when ...

Re: Text based logo creation

tylerdurden, you do the BEST tuts!

I'd use Brynn's method, but to each his own. I would do 3 groups, one for each charater, that way you can color them separately, then group as one. That allows you to ungroup whenever you want and change the colors.

Lazur - BIG hug to you! yes, that's it. Dumb me searched on font vs dee's font, didn't even dawn on me that combo search would work. And of course 'font' brings up just about every post ever written lol. Gosh I've forgotten a lot since last yr, errrr, back to the drawing board.

Checking in and Search

hi all, Sorry it's been so long since checking in. If you recall I had major (and rare) surgery almost 9 months ago. Basically had to put everything on hold while recuperating so I could get at home nursing and PT. That's all stopped now (not because I'm well but because the health insurance visits ...

Taking a leave of absence

Hi Inkscape friends, Just wanted to let you know that I'll be gone for awhile due to medical reasons (again). Having major surgery which I believe will make life a bit better, and it will be a long hard road. Had to drop off a couple yrs ago, and wasn't able to let anyone know - this time I have not...

Re: Watercolor Text - How to?

I wasn't sure if you are creating your own characters/glyphs or not. But, I do something just a little different. (note, I tried using path>difference but for some reason it didn't cut a path due to the filter used I think). I apply the watercolor as a pattern fill. See attached for details. waterco...

Tylerdurden, thx for that tut of tracing, I could not have imagined that for the life of me. I've used interpolation alone to get the gradient look, but never the tracing feature. Amazing. thanks much

Re: Interpolation Extension Bug ?

Yes, I see that it has added duplicated nodes on top of each other, esp on your right side version- this has been happening to me since v 91. When you delete the extra node(s), then the path opens. It's not just in interpolation, it's all over the place when I chg to a path. I used power stroke to m...

Re: Rearranging words and resizing the font and rearranging the whole text to fill as much as possible of a rectangle

I'm not exactly sure of the question either, but I think I see what he means. I just went to try to change the justification of just some text on one line, after typing some words on 3 separate lines, and then choosing 'center'. Might be a bug in it; the entire text box moved over an inch or so, ver...

Re: Uninstalled Font still usable in Inkscape

Thanks Lazur. Could use lots of positive thoughts (and prayers). I have a rare form of a rare illness, and not many surgeons worldwide can even do this, it's high risk, so no guarantees. PS. am still looking at your wonderful filters, when I return I have plans for several of them! Brynn, oh sorry, ...

Re: How to change background color of a grouped element?

What happens if you unlinkthe copies from the original? Will it then let you chg the color?
I really don't like working with tiled clones to be honest, I always get screwed up. I would probably do one color, then duplicate it onto a separate layers, and change the color of the entire thing.
