[Extension] : XIA and Inkscape 0.92.2
Hi, XIA is an extension used to convert "simple" svg files created with inkscape to html5 resource. Here is the homepage of this project : https://xia.dane.ac-versailles.fr Since Inkscape 0.92.2 on Windows, XIA 2.3 is not usable anymore. I work on XIA 2.4 to fix this issue but would like t...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi, Small update, XIA is now in 2.0-beta1 version : http://xia.dane.ac-versailles.fr What's new : - New export theme available - plugin is now reachable in ->extensions->export sub-category - Current themes have been updated and refreshed - Drag & Drop theme : we can move groups of elements (exp...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi, There is a lot to say about your svg file. I just write some few thoughts here, I need more time to make a deeper analysis of your work and how to handle it. For the gameDragAndDrop only : For this specific theme, XIA 1.0 does not accept svg groups. Layers are svg groups, therefore, they are ign...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi,
Well, more than few seconds to generate html file is not acceptable. Has hulf2012 said, I am interested in your svg file too to analyze and benchmark. Interesting to see if there are performances issues in the XIA engine in the drag and drop game. Thanks for your test.

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Well....I guess XIA must be looking in the XML/SVG code, and maybe it doesn't like that transform attribute (which apparently is at the root of several long-standing bugs). But if someone had rotated something, wouldn't Make a Bitmap Copy take away the XML? Doesn't that convert it to an image, wher...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
I'm a little confused here. If XIA converts the vector part to bitmap, then I don't need to use Make a Bitmap Copy? ok. I try to explain. By default, XIA is able to analyze images and vector shapes in your svg file from inkscape. But, not all inkscape functionnalities have been yet implemented in X...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Just so I can understand your comments better, what do you mean by "resource"? Does "resource" mean the original artwork? no, I mean the final result, the.html

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
... I didn't expect that... You are cheating there!! :P Well, in the very specific case explained by brynn, he had to convert its pieces into bitmap images (because XIA don't handle clipping yet...maybe it will in 2.0 version). But, vector shapes are understood by XIA. If you draw shapes to define ...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi, Ok, so I started with a simple jigsaw type of puzzle. Here's a screenshot where I'm in the middle of lining up all the pieces, and before I clip the image to each piece. I guess I'll use Make a Bitmap Copy on each piece, although that might not actually be necessary. Can XIA make any of it's pro...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi brynn,
ok, you are right. Icon is in a very bad quality but nothing to do with the fact that it is an extension. I will fix that in the next release. Thanks for that report. Really waiting for your first game

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi brynn, I guess I'm not sure what you mean by "false positive". I understand it to be some kind of security scan while falsely identifies a file as containing malware, when it really doesn't. For the EXE, which you said installs the extension, there is no security issue. It installs just...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Also, I'm guessing you may have built this using an Inkscape 0.48.x version. I could try to install into 0.48.1 and/or 0.48.5, if that would provide you any helpful info. Or at least allow me to use XIA? not so sure now. On my win7 SP1 64 bits, xia works on inkscape 0.48.5, 0.91 32 bits and 0.91 64...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
incredible ! By the way, you can start the app by starting xia/xia.bat. You don't need this xia.exe (compiled with gcc...). I will try to understand why you get such false positives. Thanks for that report. Your windows is a fortress
Are you using windows XP ?

to be sure, can you start the xia standalone version (without any crash) ? You can download it here : http://xia.dane.ac-versailles.fr/download/xia-windows.zip (the xia.exe is just a small launcher which starts xia/xia.bat) It is exactly the same app but in that case, you have to save the svg file s...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
windows installer starts by showing the target directory. In my case, I can see "C:/Program Files/Inkscape". You can change it on the fly just before starting installation. So, you can install XIA anywhere. If you specify "C:/Program Files(x86)/Inkscape, it will be available for your ...

Re: [Extension] XIA 1.0
Does it need to be installed like other Inkscape extensions (AppData/Roaming/Inkscape/extensions)? (I'm on Windows 7.) Or does it need its own directory outside of Inkscape? Well., XIA is an inkscape extension with a graphical interface based on tkinter. So, for windows and os x, the installer we m...

Some of them load after 30 sec to a minute, and some never seem to load. I'm on Firefox. ok. But it is quite a long time in fact. I have seen 3 or 4 now. But maybe some are not games? Do some of the examples show other ways to use the extension, besides games? http://xia.dane.ac-versailles.fr/demo/...

[Extension] XIA 1.0
Hi, XIA 1.0 is a new tool to build html5 resources like these ones (serious games or interactive images): http://xia.dane.ac-versailles.fr/examples.html Resources are built with inkscape and converted to html5 app with xia extension. Documentation is available here : http://xia.dane.ac-versailles.fr...
