Briefly, from something like this into something like this or this.
So in rectangular form, the view will be vectorized for further editing, and then it has to be folded to form a circle.

long rectangle into a circular form
Let say that I have a rectangular object with some mixed content (visually like acoustic spectrum for example). How to fold/wrap it into a circular form?

Re: how to imitate 'hue' blending using filters?
I was thinking to migrate some of my pojects from paintshop to inkscape due to presence of vectors. But: 1) I'm unable to replicate color masks in a repeatable way. Repeatable way is, when you use the same and again the same routine, and you just adjust/shift few parameters. It could be done by blen...

Re: how to imitate 'hue' blending using filters?
At the moment, I resigned from color filters (and use imgs re-rendered externally), because they behave a bit buggy. Some features are not remembered after reloading the file/inkscape, and they update when clicking on some node in filter editor (or in opposite way - colors are correct after adding f...

how to decide what rules clone should follow?
If I make a clone copy of something - how to decide which transformation rules it shouuld follow? For example, I'd like to exclude colors, so that clones can have individual ones?

how to imitate 'hue' blending using filters?
From what I see, there are some blending modes, few are missing or can't find them. In paintshop pro, there is a blending mode called "hue". In inkscape, I can get similar results using filters applied to (bitmap) objects directly. THe problem is, that results are similar, but not that goo...

Re: few questions (drop shadow layer, adjustments layers)
Filters do the job (maybe even better because it's object based; no need for layers) from what I can say.

[solved] set clip/mask not working
Maybe I missed some option. Inkscape 0.91 x64, win8. At first I tried with photos and objects, to cut a part from a photo. Did not worked. Using the simplest scenario. I created 2 filled nontransparent circles, one over the other. When I try to activate "set clip" or "set mask" o...

Re: few questions (drop shadow layer, adjustments layers)
When I used old PaintShopPro when it was still made by Jasc (not the Corel buy-out/iteration), it worked like a filter on both - rasters and vectors. From computer screen perspective (WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get) - vectors were treated in the same way as raster layers. Everything what was...

Re: few questions (drop shadow layer, adjustments layers)
Thanks for quick reply. As for pt1, yes, I'm speaking about layers, not order of objects on a layer. I am interested in having a common adjustment layer that affects all bottom layers in the same "raster" way (WYSIWYG so to speak). Thus, vectors "as is" are unaffected on their la...

few questions (drop shadow layer, adjustments layers)
Hello, I have few questions, not sure how to phrase keywords to find answers via search. 1) In old days, for simple graphical works - I was using PaintShopPro by Jasc. There was a feature called "Adjustment Layer". For example you could add (and manipulate live) a layer, that changed color...
