Re: Objects not visible in some parts of workspace
Hey Brynn, It's a vector file. And sure I could just make copies of the object within the doc, and will do that in order to finish the work, but at this point I'd like to understand what's going on with this file. So nobody ever encounters this kind of thing? It's happened to me a few times under di...

Re: Objects not visible in some parts of workspace
Brynn, I am either dragging the object (logo) from a folder into the Inkscape window or using the Import function. So first I imported a copy that was the original brown colour. I changed fill and stroke colours and centred it on the page in the centre of the workspace. Now I am importing another co...

Objects not visible in some parts of workspace
I'm working with multiple copies of the same object, a logo. I've found that in some cases, once I've finished working with one copy of the object, I will select and move another copy and as I move it around the workspace it disappears "under" certain regions and is visible only in some sm...

Re: Stroking object - only shows up with colour as black
Thanks Brynn. Your suggestion was spot on. When I entered the value of FFCC00 into the stroke colour box, Inkscape completed the code with two more zeroes to render the colour invisible. Probably not many users make this same amateur mistake but it might make more sense for Inkscape to complete the ...

Re: Stroking object - only shows up with colour as black
Thanks again Brynn.
Yes the sliders are all where they need to be in order for colour to be visible.
When I get a chance I'll check on the opacity values in the colour code.
Cheers.

Re: Stroking object - only shows up with colour as black
Not to hijack my own thread but there doesn't seem to be any clear direction anywhere on how to contact admin at this forum. I had difficulties getting the confirmation email to work and was looking for contact info for webmaster or administrators and could find nothing. Eventually the email worked,...

Re: Stroking object - only shows up with colour as black
Hi Brynn. Thanks for the response. Yes you understand exactly what I'm trying to do. This is for a vinyl decal that will go on a glass door. The gold border will be in a brushed gold, metallic vinyl and the look we want is of an old fashioned painted sign with a nice painted gold border. I'm pretty ...

Stroking object - only shows up with colour as black
Hi. I'm a new user to Inkscapeand don't have much experience, beyond the basics, with working with vector graphics. I'm attempting to create a multi border effect around a logo consisting of the main logo surrounded by a thin white border and then a thicker gold border. From what I've read I should ...
