Thanks,all my inkscape files are kept in a Document folder and not a program files folder and backups of each files are made on a disk for safe keeping.

I managed to install version .48.4 without any problem and as I expected all my previous work was saved in the inkscape folder.Now,I need to find a way to include the Pantone ink system into inkscape.It works with SCRIBUS since the file are .eps.Inkscape doesn't seem to support this type of files......
