Grid zoom
When drawing schematics to a A4 paper, in mm, I often find myself troubling with the following: - When zooming in, It is most practically that the smalest grids are 0.25mm (major grid space 1mm and minor grid space 0.25mm). - When zooming a little more out - the most practical grid settings would be...

Re: damaged files - loss of objects
Just to have recommend some software that does a good job checking RAM, I put Memtest on that list.
Memtest can be downloaded as a stand alone bootable image, and it also ships with various Linux distros (the boot cd image).
Personally I prefer using Ultimate Boot CD, where Memtest is included.

Inkscape web page down ?
Hi forum.
When I try to navigate to http://inkscape.org/ - I get the "403 forbidden" in Firefox and "inkscape.org refused to connect" in Chromium.
I have not observed similar problems to other web pages.
Someone else experience the same ?

Re: If you could choose 1 thing that must be implemented or fixed in Inkscape 1.0, what would it be?
I beleive the answer for the question will heavilly depend on what each user do with Inkscape. I mostly use Inkscape for drawing schematics, and I always use layers. Top two most annoying bugs 1 : Sometimes object disappears when moving through multiple layers and one layer in the middle has visibil...

Re: Automatically select all thin lines
You should be able to do a find/replace in a text editor. If you look for the style-element in xml editor, here is what it looks like for me (same thikness): opacity:1;vector-effect:none;fill:none;fill-opacity:1;stroke:#000000; stroke-width:0.088 ;stroke-linecap:butt;stroke-linejoin:miter;stroke-mit...

Re: Text - overwrite text contents fails [Windows 10]
Ok - I think I've found the one factor that makes Inkscape behave this way. Since I have a habit to comment "everyting"- I also often put comments, titles or labels on text objects too. So this is what I figured out: - For a newly created text object, Inkscape will probably behave normally...

That is the expected behaviour. It works that way on my Linux computer, but not at W10.

Text - overwrite text contents fails [Windows 10]
Hi forum. I want to ask if this is a known bug in latest stable version of Inkscape avaiable for download to Windows. I kind of struggle to describe the problem properly so please bear with me. Affected system: OS: WIndows 10 X64, Norwegian Inkscape 0.92.3 Problem description: - Let's have a text so...

Re: Problem with image borders when exporting
It is not an Inkscape issue. To obtain your goal, you can do one of either: - Increase DPI when exporting png (a multiple of 96 should gife best results if dealing with px) - Use Gimp - Make a new mask, and use existing alpha. When in edit mask mode, decrease colors to 2. That will give sharp edges,...

Re: Can I use Inkscape as an adapter?
Inkscape works best for svg files. There is a huge number of versions of dxf files and I wouldn't use Inkscape for that. For dxf files, use Librecad instead - it's sort of open source variant to Autocad.

Re: Opening DXF
The problem with dxf files is that there are so many versions. Even Librecad can only open some few variants - those that is initially created using a specific version of Autocad.

Because the "cat" isn't inside the canvas - it's located far left. To fix this - zoom out, unlock layers, move all objects into canvas.

I'm not able to copy from Calc to Incscape as vector - it paste as raster image. I use Libre Office version 5.1.6.2, may that be too old for supporting this?
I use Linux Lite 64 bit.

Hard to say without the actual .svg file. Possible due to a gradient opacity, I believe PDF doesn't support that.

Re: Colouring/adjusting a scanned image
About the gradient editing you're asking for I'll say that is a task in which Gimp would be the preferable tool. In Gimp - the task would be performed in this steps: ⋅ Duplicate layer ⋅ For the new duplicate layer, adjust the colors to the most brightest at end of gradient. &sdot...

Have you tried to see if LibreCAD support svg import? Anyway, I've seen plenty of dwg files created in autocad, and none of them holds any actuall readable text (but lines that looks like text). You may check if there is a limitation of the dwg format. If not I assume the problem lies within the sof...

Hi. At work, I use a network printer. Can't recall it's brand nor model right now, it's a big thing that supporrt both document scanning and A3 print. Don't know about scripting so what I says here is just guessing:
I heard that you can manipulate an svg using javascript in web browsers. However I do not know if you're able to save the modified svg back to a static svg file on disk.
