Yup. Felt stupid asking the question (as I almost always try out all the possible buttons I find) and now reading that, but I guess this is learning. :D

Re: Can't get nodes to snap

Probably no cookie for me, since I just tried what you describe (starshape etc) and snapping works. If you enable all snapping options, does it work then? Yep, I ticked everything on and the object movement became superhyperslow (as it is calculating all possible ways nodes and lines can snap) and ...

Can't get nodes to snap

I'm going to do the unthinkable and ask a stupid question. Why can't I get the snapping to work in Inkscape 0.91? Snapping worked fine in some older 0.48.x version which I do not have anymore. I'm scratching my head here because looking at the snapping options and grid options everything should be s...

Re: How would you create this logo ?

Well, you have the strokes ready there ---> Select the paths, then Path > Stroke to Path, combine them (CTRL and +), then subtract them from the ellipse (select both paths and hit CTRL and -). ^.^

Re: Help develope a techinque to make this effect possible

You could possibly do 1/4 of the circle part and align those to form the curves, that way you can control the overlapping. There are gazillion ways to produce that retroflowthingy. : )

Cool. Compared to working with Illustrator or CorelDraw on a project like this, the main difference is that it's more drawing and less tweaking nodes with Inkscape. That's why I love it. :)

A quick look at the sequel game coming out soon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVvwDVk8NSM Everything is made in Inkscape. This game I'm most proud of, since I got freedom to create the gameplay as well as all the graphics. I also produced the sounds and music. This was a lot less work than the fir...

Re: are Inkscape drawings aesthetically less appealing??

Inkscape is a brush, just like Illustrator is a brush and the computer is the canvas. It's up to the artist on how they're utilized. This Inkscape work might be visually unappealing, but that's on purpose: http://loadus.deviantart.com/art/Gemini-The-Twins-181088048 You can still do your drawings in ...

Well, the game will be available for Symbian (including Bada), Android, iPhone + iPad and Facebook. It will later (maybe) be on Windows desktop and Debian (Ubuntu and the likes). And all of them can play against each other. :)

Diamonds game using Inkscape

Graphics for mobile game using Inkscape. The graphics for this is now 'old' as I did all the stuff to this in the summer, but I now have the freedom to post samples. Everything you see on this video (excluding the fonts and audio) is created using the mighty Inkscape. I'm risking my account when pos...

Cooking up the color versions of the icons: http://loadusfx.net/inkscape/inkscape-color-icons.png I'm doing this in three layers, the top is the color icons, middle one is the monochrome and the bottom layer is an optional shadow for the icons. The user can then select what to display on the UI. Upd...

Just replace the file 'icons.svg', all icons have unique ID that Inkscape uses from inside that SVG file. : )

Re: Using Inkscape and not illegal copy of Illustrator

You can use Inkscape for serious / semi-serious logo design work, just make sure your display is properly profiled and Inkscape is using that profile. And you can import Pantone colors from other documents etc to get proper values.

But, vector g...
