Specifically, I'm trying to use ALT + [arrow key] to adjust the space between letters.

I just used Inkscape for the first time on a machine running Fedora 15 and can't figure out how to get the ALT key working as the various settings apps have changed considerably from GNOME 2.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
