I have disscovered that if the file has been created in InkScape then a Windows app can open and display the file. The issue is opening a .emf ( and jpg and posibily others ) in InkScape, saving in InkScape and then being unable to open in MS applications

Cannot Import .emf files into InkScape
First of all I found this program today on the net and I think that it is totally FANTASTIC!!. One of the reasons that I was looking for a program like this is so that I can open .emf files created by a CAD program, add text and shapes, save as .emf and then insert them into MS Word. I have checked ...
