Re: Node colors ...
From Tamvjong ... Left Mouse Click on a node to select that node. A node turns RED when the pointer hovers over it and it can be selected (or deselected). Note that a node can be selected and moved in one step by click-dragging on the node. End of clip ... When you move the cursor off of the node, i...

Re: Node colors ...
Thanks a lot guys. Lots of good stuff to digest. Practice, practice, practice. I still am curious about the node changing to a blue square once in a while. I could swear that I saw it, however, I can't reproduce it now. It doesn't stay blue, it turns to red. No matter, maybe it will a happen again s...

Re: Node colors ...
Xav ... I am having difficulty finding Part 6 of your tutorials. I can get to Issue 66 of Full Circle, but not sure what to do at that point. I don't see any link to Part 6. I'm sure it is there staring at me! Is this something that I need to subscribe to, or pay for? A little direction if you could...

Node colors ...
Windows 10 Inkscape 0.92 I have searched for node and color but am not getting a hit (well too many hits, not what I am looking for). When I change the nodes to one of the four on the menu bar, sometimes I see a node that is a blue square (at least that is what I I think it is, square and blue, it i...

Re: Having trouble cutting my drawing ...
Jeez ... Who'd have thunk an extension!
Thanks for that tip. I will try it.
I need to find a document that talks about the extensions.
I'm sure a there are a lot of useful things in there.
I use grouping, but just need to be careful not to get too many layers.
Learn something everyday ...
Thanks
Bob

Re: Having trouble cutting my drawing ...
Just a quick note ...
Grouping was my downfall.
I just kept ungrouping until I got down to individual elements.
Then I could delete the half of my drawing.
Learn something every day.
Hopefully!
Thanks for listening ...

Re: Having trouble cutting my drawing ...
I tried to share the drawing but it said it was too big to attach. In trying to reduce it, I found I had multiple copies underneath the drawing. So, I'm going to back out of the forum for a bit and try and clean things up a bit. That probably is what is causing my grief. I only have one layer, but r...

Re: Having trouble cutting my drawing ...
Thanks for getting back with me. Thanks for the tip on the FLOSS manuals. More good reference. I'm just not having any luck with this. All the paths on the right hand side of center are not connected to the left. Should be able to select the whole side. No matter how I select, it moves the entire dr...

Re: Having trouble cutting my drawing ...
Thanks for the info. I finally got the paths cut down the middle. My problem now is ... How to select all of the paths on the right side of the cut line to move out or delete. I can individually select paths all the way down the totem pole with the node tool, but can't seem to grab and move the whol...

Having trouble cutting my drawing ...
Greetings to all ... I'm enjoying learning Inkscape. Lots to learn! And enjoying it! I am on Windows 10 and Inkscape 0.92. I used to use Freehand. There are a few things I miss about Freehand. Reset zero point; Knife; maybe a few other things. Current problem. I have a drawing that I am trying to sp...

Re: I am having trouble setting a selected object to a particular layer.
Thanks. So, to be sure, with objects already drawn, you can't just click the layer you want them to be on? I'm OK, with the methods you mentioned. Just wanted to make sure. I love keyboard shortcuts! One think Inkscape is missing is the ability to increase/decrease font size with a keyboard shortcut...

I am having trouble setting a selected object to a particular layer.
Hello all. I have a question regarding layers I was a user of Freehand, so I have a pretty good idea of how layers work. I am using Win10 and Inkscape 0.91. Is the only way to assign a layer to an object, is to select the object, do a right mouse click and go down to move to layer, select a layer na...

draw a gradient line with a number of colors ...
Hello ... I would like to make a line, say several points wide and a specified length that would include a specified number of colors. For example, I would like a line that might be 8" long and would start at one end with the first color of the rainbow and go through all the colors to the other...

Re: Setting a zero point ...
OK, thanks for getting back with me.
I used it, I will miss it, but will figure a way to deal with it.
I have some other features I have to figure out and learn a new way.
Thanks
Bob

Setting a zero point ...
Hello all. Just getting used to Inkscape. I used to use Macromedia Freehand quite some time ago. Haven't for a while. So many similarities! This makes it much easier for me to get up and running in Inkscape. One thing that I used to be able to do and can't seem to figure out how to do it in Inkscape...
