This seems really terrible to me... You have to do all your work in 3 different areas. Top bar, the image and the color wheel. This is no way better for gradient editing. Maybe they have a plan for when the gradient editing will be more robust and that is why they are doing it but it seem so counter...

Getting rid of the preferences seemed to work for me as well but I still have the same problem when I set the DPI for rasterizing at 300dpi, seems to work OK at 150dpi but a time or two even that failed.
