Hellooo..... anybody?

Hi, I've recently downloaded inkscape to create a social icon dingbat font. But, for some reason, when the image has a white space breaking the black space, it doesn't recognize the glyph. I've vectorize and saved the documents as svg through illustrator. I'm able to make the glyph from some of them...
