I have inkscape running under ubuntu linux. The problem is that whenever I try to draw using any tool the cursor appears at one place and the drawing appears at a different place. It means there is a gap between the cursor and the drawing. This happens with every other tool like fill, rectangle, circle etc. Can anyone give me the solution?

Well, I was hoping someone else would have an answer for you, because I sure don't. But thought I would suggest that you might want to explore the option of posting this to the Inkscape bug tracker -- Launchpad. Also, please read this topic viewtopic.php?f=27&t=484
