Hello Inkscape!
I build hand designed skateboards for a hobby. But I am increasingly being asked to do "tribute" boards from older professional models. Most of these you cannot physically put your hands on. So I think I need to figure out a way to accurately reverse engineer the 2D dimensions from an imported image. (Most of the images would be downloaded and have to be resized or sharpened up depending on quality) I am usually able to find the overall length and the two horizontal measurements taken at where the trucks attach as a guide.
Does anyone have a moment to offer advice on a process that might do this in Inkscape? Or a combination of Inkscape and something else?
I appreciate any time or advice!
Measure Dimensions from an Imported Image
Re: Measure Dimensions from an Imported Image
So if there is a lign of known length somewhere in the image, you could try the RealScale extension to resize it.
See https://inkscape.org/en/~Moini/%E2%98%8 ... own-length
Then you can use the measure tool to measure arbitrary lengths.
