Hi everyone,
I'm using Inkscape for few days to use it with a laser cutter.
Is it possible to attached measures to elements of the drawing ? It would be great if the measures could update when the shape is modified. For instance, if you draw a rectangle. You could specify its dimensions, Lenght 50 mm for instance, then if you change the lenght, the text '50 mm' would update at the same time.
The wooonderful thing would be that if you change the 50 mm, the rectangle changes (like in most of CAD software).
Is there a tool to perform a part of my dream ?
Thanks for your help and sorry for my poor english...
A.

I think there are a couple of options - one extension adds DIN like measurements, but they are only drawn when you run the extension.

Then, there is the 'measure path' extension, in Extensions > Visualize path.
Then, in 0.93, there will be self-updating path effects - 'Measure segment' and 'Path length'.
