Iv been trying to figure out how to have a word or phrase curve. Iv gotton them to curve once but the line stays with it. I want to be able to make the curve, and when i print it all you see the words not lines below them.
Also. can i type somthing out stretch it to the size i need then cut it in half and have it as two pieces.

Re: curved words
All you have to do remove the Stroke of the line (path) that you don't want to show. However note that it will be hard to select after removing the stroke, because you won't be able to see it. Another way is to make the Stroke 100% transparent.
I'm not sure what you're asking. Yes, you can type out something, stretch it and cut it in half, and have it as 2 pieces -- if that's what you want. But something tells me I'm missing your meaning
Can you clarify what you want?

Re: curved words
Well first im still trying to figure out how to make my words curve
my cutting pad is only 24inchs long. I need to make stuff thats more like 5 feet long. Useing Sure cuts a lot for the cricut. For the past couple months i have trying to match letter sizes and all that. I just want to be able to use inkscape make it to the desired length as one so evey aspect of the word or phrase is the same. Just be able to brake it to the length i need to cut.
If any of that did make sence let me know.

Conveniently, if you toggle outline mode (control - numpad 5), you can see such objects.

Re: curved words
Oh, so you're using the Cricut.
There is a forum here for using various different cutters (Cutters forum), so don't be surprised if this message thread gets moved there
I should say that I have no idea how to use Inkscape with the cutters, and I have a very limited concept about how the cutters work. I wouldn't have tried to answer you message if I had known, so sorry about that.
If whatever you want to make is going to be 5 feet long, I would think it would work better to make the letters cut out in a straight line. Then you could draw an arc on whatever you put the letters on, and apply the letters along the arc.
I have seen commercials on tv for the Cricut, and it looks like they can make letters, geez....2 feet tall, or close to it. So what is the problem -- is it that the Cricut doesn't have the font that you want to use?

This must be in the 0.47 pre? I know that there's been quite a bit of discussion about selecting transparent paths and paths with no stroke. So they must have worked out a solution.

Don't think so, outline mode has been there since .45 AFAIK. If you are running .46 give it a try!
