If I copy some text in to inkscape from an email it seems to treat that portion of text as a group of objects with each line of text a seperate object.
Is it possible to copy and paste a paragraph of text and for Inkscape to treat it as one single object?
Thank you
Martin

This is the default behavior, you should get one text object. Are you sure you haven't converted the text object into paths? When you select the object what does the statusbar say?

Try pasting it into notepad or a text application and then copying it from that program into inkscape. Email text seems to have some quirks.
Your mind is what you think it is.

Pasting into notepad first did the trick.

I'm curious, what email application did you try to copy from?
