You guys have to find a way to salvage the pixel trace tool!

Postby Achul » Mon Feb 01, 2016 9:32 pm

Just recently I waited over 30 minutes on a very good laptop to pixel trace a relatively small PNG image.
nothing would happen. I had 3 different designs running and I had to crash Inkscape and all of them to get back to them.

Luckily I had saved... But had I not saved it would have ruined my day. Completely ruined it.

So please find a way to shut the process down/abort it instead of crashing the whole program if the tool gets stuck.

Thanks a lot!

PS: I know there is a warning there. I didn't mind waiting a while, I minded it crashing.

Love you guys anyway, thanks.

I think I even made a feature request for an "abort" button once. Let's see if I can find it....

https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/459774

You could add your support by either making a new comment, or click "Does this bug affect you too?" link. Theoretically, the more support an issue has, the more likely it is that a developer will become interested. I think it's more theory than actual practice. Still though, it's the only way to show support for an issue.
